Using airport showers in the UK
A shower listed at an airport may belong to a lounge or hotel. Confirm that you can enter the facility and use the shower before building it into your journey.
General planning guidance. Airport and airline procedures can differ. Use the official links below to confirm what applies to your journey.
Check who can use the shower
Start with the airport’s facilities page, then check the named operator’s current terms. Distinguish a public shower from a shower available through lounge admission, airline eligibility or a hotel booking.
Do not assume lounge entry includes a shower, that a shower can be booked separately, or that every lounge has one. Confirm the exact product before paying.
Make sure the location fits your flight
Check the terminal and security side. An arrival shower may not be accessible from departures, and a departure lounge in another terminal may be outside the route available to you.
- Check the opening hours and last admission time.
- Ask whether advance booking is possible or required.
- Confirm the price, what it includes and any time limit.
- Check whether towels and toiletries are provided.
- Ask the operator about accessible shower features if you need them.
Leave time for the rest of your journey
Allow for walking, any queue, changing and the route back to your gate. A shower booking does not change your airline’s boarding deadline.
If you are considering a landside hotel, check the journey there and back as well as any security or border formalities. Confirm day-use access directly with the hotel; proximity to an airport does not establish access from your terminal.
